Description
Classic hand engraved scrollwork with diamond accents, artfully arranged all the way around this beautiful band. Patrick’s attention to detail includes the sides of the ring that feature a triple row of milgrain.
Hand engraving is a process by which a highly skilled artisan makes decorative cuts into metal. The tools used for this are like tiny chisels and must be kept very sharp and at precise angles to product the shiny cuts.
Milgrain, sometimes spelled millgrain, is a technique of creating rows of tiny bead-like decorations on metal. There are various ways of creating this look, but the most common is using a milgrain tool. These tools have a tiny wheel with a reverse of the shape and size of the beads desired. The wheel is rolled skillfully along the metal, creating indentions that create the bead shape.
